Required: A guide to control the Hercules RM46 from a stand-alone PC program through a USB connection

Dear community members,

I would really appreciate your assistance on this matter.

I am trying to control the RM46 MCU from a stand-alone PC program (based on C, python, etc). I want to be able to:

  1. control the operation of the MCU and select the program it runs.
  2. Receive/send data from and to the MCU.

I am currently using the following:

  1. The RM46 Launchpad.
  2. CCS6.

This is needed to use the RM46 MCU as an embedded system controlled and operated from an .exe program from a PC through a USB connection without the need to uses CCS6.

I would appreciate if you can provide me with links with tutorials on the subject of if you can list the main steps and concepts I should go over to be able to perform such a task.

My level in programming is intermediate. My level in embedded systems programming is a beginner.

So you detailed explanation is highly appreciated. Thanks,

Abdullah
