CCS Uniflash 3.4 - Debug Port Unlock on TM4C

I am trying to use CCS Uniflash with an XDS100v2 debugger to unlock a device that I have locked a section of memory to be read only. The unlock and finish unlock appear to work, but the device is not programmable after I power cycle it. My original program also continues to run so the memory is not being erased as it should with this operation. I am attaching a screenshot of the entire sequence:

What could cause this operation to fail? We are using daisy chained JTAG with two processors, but the one I am trying this operation on is the first in the chain. Could this be the problem? Is there a known problem with the Uniflash 3.4 release?

Hello Cam,

I do not think Uniflash 3.1 supported XDS100v2 for TM4C Unlock Sequence

Sorry Amit,

3.1 was a typo, I am using version 3.4. I was using 3.1 up until today, and was getting an error on the unlock operation with that version. I do not get any errors with version 3.4 but it does not seem to work.

Hello Cam,

Does the release note for Uniflash 3.4 mention that the feature has been added. I still have not installed the new Uniflash, but will try to look for its release notes

The release notes for 3.3 mentioned "Fixed issues with Stellaris/Tiva Debug Port Unlock and other related features" but does not mention any specifics.

Hello Cam,

I am not sure which issue that corresponds to. I would suggest checking with CCS Forum on "Fixed issues with Stellaris/Tiva Debug Port Unlock and other related features". In the meantime I will check internally as well.

Hello Amit,

Can you reccomend an off the shelf programming tool that can be used with the Uniflash unlock functionality? I don't think the XDS100 is supported, so I will need another tool that is!

Hello Cam,

The specific thing to look for is the TI Emulator Version has to 6.0.83.0 in CCS Installation. If that is there then you can use XDS100V2 or XDS200 to unlock the device.

First on a command window change the path to "ccsv6/ccs_base/common/uscif" and then run the following

dbgjtag -f @xds100v2 -Y unlock,mode=tiva

dbgjtag -f @xds200 -Y unlock,mode=tiva

Since I had a XDS200 I was able to verify the same. I can check if XDS100V2 works only on Monday.

XDS100v2 also works. Do make sure that the TI Emulator version is correct as described in the last post.

Thanks for your excellent support! The command line emulator works great. The XDS100v2 works perfectly to unlock the device with this method.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but how can I open a command window in CCS v6 to perform this unlock sequence? Can you provide more detailed instruction on the below? I have been searching but can't seem to find any detailed information (full disclosure: I am an electronics designer with very limited CCS abilities to date...)
