launchpad XL2 doesn't work

Hi everyone,

I was working fine with my launchpad XL2 TMS57012, but today when I plug it in the PC USB the led's doesn't work and nothing seems to be working

I have plug it in two PC's, I have mesure the input of The mini USB (5v is there)

some suggestions please to find the problem ?? thanks in advance

FB1 (fusible) and FB2 are fine

Please check that jumper JP6, in the lower left corner, did not come loose.

Please let us know if any LEDs are on.

FB1, FB2 are ferrite beads, not fuses.

Did you plug in any booster packs? Did you change which port of the PC you plugged into?
The launchpad should be plugged into a powered hub or provided with external +5V.

If all else fails, there is a utility xdsdfu in the CCS folder <ccs_install>\ccs_base\common\uscif\xds110

xdsdfu -e will list the xds110's connected to the PC. Would be good to know whether you see your board listed there or not.

sorry to be late, So I put a jumper in JP6 and the board works

thanks for your answer bob and last question, I read that this jumper is used TO POWER THROUGH BOOSTER PACK, but really I didn't understand what's this 'booster pack' is used for ??

A booster pack is a separate board that can be added to the Launchpad. (booster packs). If you have a booster pack that is for evaluating a power regulator, and you want that regulator to power the Launchpad, you remove jumper JP6 to avoid back feeding the 5V power from the booster pack into the USB connector.
