O Forum, Forum! Wherefore art thou Forum?

Guru 47900 points

Credit Shakespeare, Wm., Act 2, Scene 2 for so perfect a word picture!

Has the TM4C forum descended to Stellaris forum status?   (i.e. dead/dying?)

(or - has the "batch processing robot" failed to (unlock) PF0?)   Two postings in past 16 hours ... "Wait - look up - are those vultures - circling?"

[edit: 19:56 CST: while some favor, "No look passes" - we have here a, "No post forum!"   Now 23 hours (and counting) w/just 2 lonely posts...

I wouldn't expect the worst here. IMHO that may indicate that most of TI customers-in-need are from a commercial/academical environment, and enjoy the weekend. But for sure, fora of competitors with cheaper eval boards and free point-and-click software enjoy more traffic on weekends. Often requests of the totally flat-footed "do my homework quickly" sort.

As long as another famous Shakespeare quotation (Richard III., regarding the kingdom-horse trade) is not brought up, not everything is lost.

  • Well put (especially the Richard III reference).   Some may argue that, "December holiday period is 30+ days past" and that a, "normal weekend (here)" sees in excess of 10-15 postings.

Firm/I have "loaded up" on the sub 10 (USD) eval boards you note - even w/Pick n Place & Reflow Oven - never/ever could we produce @ that price.

Might, "Kingdom for a shiny (but used) sports car" meet approval?    (pay no attention to the (likely) "rolled-back" odometer, valve knock, etc...)

Never gets the approval of the household-chairwoman - totally insufficient luggage compartment ...

Albeit we might digress here a little - I think even the mentioned competitor of TI is selling his eval board below production costs, hardly at break-even. It seems a kind of strategic mixed calculation, to gain future market share by especially targeting students and (very) young hobbyists and "tech-nerds". It is accompanied by a (supposedly) easy to use and free Point-And-Click software, which is ridden by bugs, both in the software itself and in the auto-generated code. And while commercial customers often turn away in disgust, this project is held up by upper management, at tremendous costs. Obviously TI doesn't have a prerogative of questionable higher-management decisions ...

  • Indeed household (and office) chairwomen rule.

As to "digress" - (some) forum activity "trumps" (no) forum activity - some would think.

"Spheroid" (or other - geometrically inspired code offerings) appear (far) from, "Ready for prime-time."
Note that - w/our efforts & the return of work-week - (perhaps not in that order) forum's "heart-beat" has returned...

  • "We are all but players on a stage, full of sound and fury signifying nothing"

Although our December holiday is past there is another, perhaps more widely spread, holiday occurring now. I don't know how many of our residents celebrate it but at least some likely do.

    新年快乐

    Robert

Hopefully I have the quote close to right, I'm working off of frail memory.

Very frail - some "unkind" (surely not moi) would say.   Misquote the bard - AND Forum Silence?    W.S.: "Better a witty fool than a foolish wit..."
