Hello,

I have LAUNCHXL2-570LC43. And I am trying to start developing with it.

I have installed Code Composer Studio V6.0.1.00040 and update packages "Hercules Emulation" to version 6.0.7 and TI Emulators to version 6.0.83.1

When I connect the board to my computer I can see two devices in the device administrator:

XDS110 Class Application/User UART (COM7)  --> driver is successfully installed.

XDS110 Class Auxiliary Data Port (COM8) --> driver is NOT installed successfully. 

When I try to open the serial port COM7 with Termite/Hyperterminal... there is an error while opening the Port.

I am using Windows XP (not sure whether this is relevant)

I am missing to install something?

    Hi Francisco,

    You may need to try running the installer as admin.

    I'm not sure about Win XP - we don't have any XP machines since microsoft stopped updating the security packs.

    COM7 you should be able to connect to - COM 8 I wouldn't worry about at all, it's not used.

    If installing as admin doesn't help then try running the program 'xdsdfu -e' in the directory \ccsv6\ccs_base\common\uscif\xds110.
    It should list an XDS110 part not a TIVA part.

    Last check that there isn't an issue with power. This launchpad does need a high amount of power so plugging into an unpowered hub can be a problem. Plug directly into the PC or into a powered hub ...

    Hello Antony,

    I will try that and let you know how it goes. I was able to install it on a Win10 computer but I want to fix my XP as well.

    The XDS110 is pretty new - the drivers were done recently. Talked to the developer and XP wasn't tested so may not work.
    XP support in CCS is about to be dropped this year. So if it's just that you have an old machine that you want to use - it may
    be a good idea to try putting Linux on it. CCS does support Linux as well as windows.
