Interfacing of RM48HDK with Imx6 SOM through UART.

The problem in the quesiton is that the imx6 SOM is completely unknown. And when you post on the interface forum, these folks
probably don't even know what a SOM is (maybe they do - but the SOM is more of an microprocessor term... when talking to interface folks you need to get into the context of the specifics of line levels and signalling standards not just talk about boards hooking up to each other...)

Try to phrase the question like this:

"I need to interface a TI MCU to another board via UART. The other board uses an XYZ interface chip to drive it's UART connection. The MCU has 3.3V LVCMOS logic levels. What TI interface chip should I use between the MCU and the other board".

You will need to find out what 'XYZ' interface chip is on the SOM. If you don't know - then try asking the SOM manufacturer this question or look on the schematics for the SOM.

Perhaps you have posted this new post to TI's industrial Interface forum as suggested by Anthony and got moved back here again. As commented by Anthony, we can't recommend as we don't know the voltage levels out of the Imx6 SOM. I will suggest that you rephrase your question to the Industrial Interface forum by telling them exactly what the voltage levels out of the SOM and what the voltage levels out of RM48HDK which is 3.3V LVCMOS and ask them for recommendation on the line driver IC to use. This way they are clear on what you need instead of telling them what devices you have. I suppose the industrial Interface group has limited knowledge on the Imx6 device as well as the RM48 device.
