TM4C123H6PMI SPI 3 WIRE

Hello,

I got a LCD with just 3 wire for communication, SDA, SCLK and CSX, and i am not sure how should i connect it to TM4C123 uC. I don't see in the TM4C123 datasheet a way of using just 3-wire SPI, can you help me? Thank you!

Best regards,
Iliescu Mihai

  • Usually - but not always - such "3-wire SPI" links avoid the use of "Return data" from the remote, SPI Slave.   (i.e. the display is a one-way (send & pray) type device)

Not too hard to extend this to:

    SDA: MCU's SPI_TX ties here

    SCK: MCU's SPI_CLK here

CSX: MCU's SPI_FSS here ***  (you must compare the display's data-sheet w/MCU's (various) SPI formats - and "mate the two."   Lcd is the "boss" in this instance (i.e. the MCU must bend to the will of the display (as the display cannot change))   *** should there be "no" successful mating between Lcd's signal chart & your MCU - you must (instead) employ a GPIO pin to serve as "CSX."   This is more work for you - but insures that you can make most any SPI device properly attach to your MCU.
