Hi,

I need to run a code from SDRAM, but it failed and entered into prefetch abort.

can you give me a simple example?

I use IAR workbench and work on RM48HDK.

if IAR project is not possible CCS could also be OK.

I find some information which said the memory type need to be changed into normal, but I don't know how to do it.

hi Bob,
after i change SDRAM memory type into normal it works.
i add the following two lines.
_mpuInit_();
_mpuEnable_();

but why i have to call mpuEnable? my application doesn't need mpu, I just want to run code in SDRAM

By default the memory range of the EMIF SDRAM is "eXecute Never". See page 177 of the ARM Cortex R4 TRM.

I know this and do the modification in the _mpuInit_();
my question is after change the attribute of SDRAM from eXecute Never into execution permitted(memory type from strong ordered into normal) do I still need to call _mpuEnable_()?
is it possible to execution code in SDRAM with the mpu disabled?

You need to enable the MPU to override the default setting.
