Where is the Flash State Machine Command Register (FSM_COMMAND) in RM48 and RM57?

Hello

I need to write some specific macro instructions to manage EEPROM in RM48 and RM57.

I have the following documentation:

SPNA148 Advanced F021 Flash API Erase/Program Usage

SPNU501 F021 Flash API Version 2.00.00 Reference Guide

SPNU503B RM48x 16/32-Bit RISC Flash Microcontroller Technical Reference Manual

SPNU562 RM57Lx 16/32-Bit RISC Flash Microcontroller Technical Reference Manual

In the SPNA148 documentation the command to WRITE / ERASE the EEPROM is in the following register:

FFF8 720C FSM_COMMAND The command to be executed.

I cannot find this register in RM48 or RM578

What is the name of this register in RM48 and RM57?

Hi Jerome,

The command register at offset 0x20C stores the encoded values of different commands to the flash state machine. The API creates the abstract for you so you don't need to know the address of this register.

If you write as follows it will initiate a program command. See the example in section 3.2.1 of SPNA148.

FLASH_CONTROL_REGISTER->FsmCommand.FSM_COMMAND_BITS.FSMCMD = Fapi_ProgramData;

As far as what commands are supported it is listed in the appendix A of the SPNU501 userguide. I'm listing here again.

Thanks for your reply.

I know it’s not usual but I am creating a project in fully assembly language. So I cannot use the API in C language, I will have to see what is doing the API.

Is it possible to get the information by another way?

Hi Jerome,
TI does not support any programming not using the Flash F021 API. Is there any reason why you do not want to use API.

Hi Charles
The only reason why I avoid using the T.I. API is that the project is written in assembly language.
I can understand it’s a best practice to use T.I. API and I will try to do it.
