connecting the tm4c129 launchpad to the msp430 capacitive sensor

Good day, I have a question, how do u connect the tm4c129 launchpad to the msp430 capacitive sensor so that the light on the msp430 capacitive sensor comes on. I attached the msp430 capacitive sensor to the top of the tm4c129 launchpad and plugged in the usb power port but the light on the msp430 capacitive sensor didn't come on.

Good day, I made a mistake and clicked flag on the previous commentI have a question, how do u connect the tm4c129 launchpad to the msp430 capacitive touch booster pack so that the light on the msp430 capacitive touch booster pack comes on. Hello Raymond,

Did you connect a 3.3V supply to the Pin marked P1.0 as per the schematic and check if the LED comes ON?

I just attached the sensor to the top of the launchpad ( the part which has Boosterpack 2). Where on the launchpad is P1.0 and 3.3 V. I am trying to put a pic but the website isn't allowing me.

You can download the User Guide for the booster pack and see in the schematic section. For a LaunchPad perspective, it is the pin below the 3.3V on the booster pack header.

This is the guide I am using . www.ti.com/.../slau337b.pdf. The schematic on the msp launchpad in the pdf is different from that of the tm4 launchpad. In the schematic they refer to the J5 pin but on my board I am only seeing JP5 pin. Are there any pdf user guide showing how to connect the tm4 launchpad to the proximity sensor boosterpack without using a msp launchpad example?

Hello Raymond,

I think I am getting confused here. The Booster Pack documentation is referring to the MSP LaunchPad. But it can connect to the TM4C LaunchPad as is w/o any change and you can use the TivaWare example for the Cap Sense Booster Pack to check the results.

Hey, good day though the tm4c129 launchpad can connect to the msp430 sensor hub booster pack, there are some configurations specific to the tm4c129 launch that must be performed on the launchpad in order to get the led light on the msp430 sensor hub booster pack to come on once you plug in the power usb. What are those configurations specific to the tm4c129 launchpad ?

The example code and driver for TM4C123 is in the following path under TivaWare

D:\ti\TivaWare_C_Series-2.1.2.111\examples\boards\ek-tm4c123gxl-boost-capsense

Since there is not much difference between the TM4C123 and TM4C129 peripherals, it should work mostly the same. Please do make sure that you refer to the following application note on peripheral API calls that are different between the two devices

Ok, so the link for the software that you provided is it only compatible for windows not mac right?

Also, is there a pdf showing the tm4c123gxl launchpad being attached to the msp430 capacitive sensor hub booster pack. If there is could you please provide a link. I really would be appreciative for that.

While the TivaWare installer is packaged as a Windows executable, under Linux I was able to use unzip to extract the contents.

I guess on a MAC should you should also be able to use unzip to extract the contents from the TivaWare installer.

In the TivaWare installation documentation directory there is SW-EK-TM4C123GXL-BOOST-CAPSENSE-UG-2.1.2.111.pdf. The document explains the need to install surface mount resistors on the pads provided on the bottom of the capacitive sense BoosterPack, since the TM4C devices do not have the capacitive sense hardware assisted peripheral features of some MSP430 chips.
