how to integrate Flash programming function into customised upper computer

Dear Experts

our company had an outdated costomised PC tool which can write DSP flash, this tool is developed with MFC . It integrated Flash Programming Utility provided by TI(I am not sure) , it can decode the .out .hex .bin files generatde by DSPs like tms320. And then,program the DSP.

Now we upgrade to tms570 series, and my manager wants to develope an upper computer software (with C#) which is able to integrate the flash programming function as well. But firstly I dont know how to decode .out file.Secondly, I dont know how to program flash via SCI(USB).

I have two parts : bootloader and app. I wish to directly load bootloader to flash , then use SCI and bootloader to write my app to somewhere I specified.

can anyone help me and does TI provide any tutorial or library or tool?

you may not need to do much work.

through debug server scripting you can load a .out file into flash by calling the internal functions of CCS.

see the example in <>\ccsv6\ccs_base\scripting\examples\loadti

this should be able to be run from the command line but once you can do that - you can put your own GUI on top.

DSS uses a javascript interpreter but there are some instructions for language bindings here: Using Java Using Perl Using Python

If you have trouble with DSS please post to the Code Composer Forum rather than this forum as the people monitoring that forum are the tool experts.

For this forum post any problems specific to Hercules or the F021 API.
