TMS570 manufacturing commitment

Hi, we are considering the use of one of TMS570 MCUs on a SIL4 application.

Therefore I needed to know for how long does TI commits to manufacture the Hi-rel MCUs? I mean, the expected lifecycle of our product is about 20years and we need to know for how long does Texas commits to manufacture these MCUs or if there is a guaranty that a pin-to-pin replacement will be available.

Note: I tried both the online chat and the email support, but none of them were able to answer my question.

    Nilton,

    We appreciate your consideration of a Hercules TMS570 MCU for your application. 

    Can you please provide the specific TMS570 part# you are considering?  You mention Hi-rel, do you mean the EP parts?  Again, best if you supply a specific part#.

    In general, most of the TMS570 are early in their lifecycle, but 20 years is certainly a long time.  TI doesn't make any "guarantees" about lifecycle, but we can say that the TMS570 devices will not be going away any time soon and this is fairly low risk.  The markets we are in certainly demand the long lifecycles and we are continuing to promote and sell these devices to new customers.

    Thanks for your quick answer!

    We were looking at TMS5703137CGWTQEP, but it is not defined yet. Indeed, 20 years is a bit too far for a semiconductor lifecycle. Anyway, if you can provide me the information about how long, aproximately, this part is intended to be on production I would appreciate.

    Another question: the SIL4 certification process requires us to gather documents regarding component traceability (manufacture site, testing, etc). Would TI provide such documents for the part # mentioned?
