I try to open the schematic file of the Launchpad TM4C123GXL which is within the archive, neither do I success to open it with Alitum, Eagle or Orcad.

Does anybody is capable to open it and to save it in one of this format so I can import it in Altium. ?

  • There is a schematic diagram at the User's Guide, which can be opened using pdf viewer. I am not familiar with the one in the archive.

  • Yes, I know this, but this is slow to do and it increase the possibility of making some errors, reason why I prefer to import the schematic and to modify it if possible...

  • Hi,

Do a search in the internet what software can open .brd and .sch. Some discussions says that .brd files can be opened by CadSoft Eagle. The .sch file can be opened by Orcad, PADS, Protel.

    Honestly ?

... reason why I prefer to import the schematic and to modify it if possible...

The Launchpads are usually sold to non-commercial end customers, so the (PDF) schematic is intended as a reference, not a design document.

You may try to approach a TI-FAE for a design schematic, or perhaps get it via this forum. The latter requires a TI employee to answer your request...

  • I have tried already. i succeed to open the BRD in AD16. the SCH in AD16 return an empty schematic, if i use the import wizard it give me an error, and if i open it in eagle i also get an error

  • Hello Chris,

There is a text file in zip file which states "The EK-TM4C123GXL Design Package was created using Mentor PADS version 9.3"

Also please note that even though you are using the EK-TM4C123GXL there are 2 things you would need to reconsider

    1. TI does not provide the ICDI firmware for debug.
    2. TI shall not have any liability on a design which uses the EK-TM4C123GXL as it is not tested for any compliance or regulatory body.

    Regards
    Amit
  • I saw the file but was not able to import it in AD. I have succeed to make it anyway. I can replace the ICDI port by JTAG this is not a big problem....

For those who are in the same situation than me here are the files I have translated from PADS to AD files...they are not perfect but they allow to save some time already...EK-TM4C123GXL Rev A Design Package.zip
