Sir,

using following link----- https://www.element14.com/community/people/jancumps/blog/2014/12/13/ti-hercules-launchpad--test-the-can-with-a-poor-mans-can-driver

i had followed the method and put the code you given later i get the proper can frame which i test on MSO. but after some days i again test it . it generate the nERROR LED (RED LED) = ON on the launchpad TMS570LS04X . i gain tried to deploy the same code in it but it again show the same error LED on. and frame also not generated. it shows following error.

CortexR4: Trouble Halting Target CPU: (Error -2064 @ 0x0) Unable to read device status. Reset the device, and retry the operation. If error persists, confirm configuration, power-cycle the board, and/or try more reliable JTAG settings (e.g. lower TCLK). (Emulation package 6.0.14.5)
CortexR4: Error: (Error -1170 @ 0x0) Unable to access the DAP. Reset the device, and retry the operation. If error persists, confirm configuration, power-cycle the board, and/or try more reliable JTAG settings (e.g. lower TCLK). (Emulation package 6.0.14.5)

what will i do to rectify this problem.

thanks,

regards,

rocky

  • Rocky,

Does the error LED clear after a power on reset push-button press?

Did the error occur by itself spontaneously after using the board for some days? Or did you do something:
    - reflash
    - change any jumpers?

If you have trouble locking up you should try the items listed in this post for recovery:

I thought I already answered but maybe this is a duplicate post - I would try to recover according to steps

    Specifically JM Mifsud's suggestions:
    William,

Can you try the following and let me know the result. (I'm actually in business trip and don't have a board to do screen capture)

    1] Start CCS
    2] Open Target Configurations Window.
3] Right click on your target configuration for your device.
4] Click on Launch Selected Configuration.
5] A new window (Debug) should be open.
6] Right click on the entry in this window and select Show all Core.
7] Right click on "Icepick" and select "Connect"
8] Icepick should be connected now.
9] right click on "DAP" and select "Connect"
10] DAP should be connected now.
11] Right Click on Cortex_R4 and select "Connect"
    12] Cortex_R4 should be connected.

Please let me know if this sequence is working. If not, at what stage is it failing?

  • Sir,

Step no.4 i couldn't follow since that "Launch Selected Configuration" deactivated. plz tell me the proper steps to rectify this problem. because i m new with that launchpad. That nERROR led blink Fraction of second when i reset the power push button on Launchpad.& whenever i used another program to debug like led blink on gio pin that works fine but at the time reset power button that nERROR led blink ones for fraction ofsecond similarly for above code can Data Transmit.

    Thanks,

    Regards,

    Rocky

  • Rocky,

I've never seen this option disabled before.   Maybe you can post a screenshot so I can understand what you mean exactly.

Try clicking the white triangle to the left of the "Non Debuggable Devices". That should expand the list of non debuggable devices and show the icepick.

  • Sir,

i am getting the same error while connecting icePick, dap,cortexR4.

is that meaning that launchpad is damage.
