Spurious issue as soon as the SIM is registered to GSM-Network

Hi All.

We have a SOC, wherein we are facing the following issue.

As soon as the GSM-SIM registers on the network, the "FaultISR" handler is hit.
In case the SIM is removed, the code proceeds forward merrily.

The above issue happens only spuriously.

We are using Telit-Chipset, and it communicates over UART1.
At the culprit-time, the UART1-Interrupt-Handler DOES NOT get hit.

What other diagnostics could be done to resolve the issue?

  • We have a SOC, wherein we are facing the following issue.

As soon as the GSM-SIM registers on the network, the "FaultISR" handler is hit.
In case the SIM is removed, the code proceeds forward merrily.

Not much relevant information. Is "SoC" an external IC, connected via UART ? Further lines suggests so. Then, the events on the UART interface during this period are of interest.

What other diagnostics could be done to resolve the issue?

Checking the SCB registers for the cause, once the hardfault is hit. Instrumenting your code, to trace the events in both cases, and localize the error. Perhaps it's a simple stack overflow ...

For brevity, here is the complete function-vector-table in the startup-file :: ...

The interface to the "Soc", and the regarding interrupt routines would be more interesting.
