TIVA ware USB Serial Port Purging problem

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TM4C1290NCPDT

Hello Mates,

We are using the TIVA based Controller TM4C1290NCPDT, with USB Serial Device Configuration our main aim for doing such is to communicate with the PC based Software, Now as such by doing this, Controller USB driver is being installed successfully  and Port with COM Number is also being assigned now,

But communication is not being started in Some PC it will work as such in my PC it will work smoothly but in my colleague it will not work as such we found the Port is not being open successfully by that communication software and we monitor the action in background around the port is like below.

COM was opened and Purge the serial port is being happening whats exactly it mean???

and how it will happen with any communication system.

Please guide me for the same.

  • Hello Smit,

Did you base your application on an existing TivaWare example? Also did you try you application on a TI provided board, to eliminate hardware issue?

Are the drivers installed correctly on the PC on which the problem is noticed? Also what software are you using on the PC to communicate with TM4C device?

    Thanks,
    Sai
  • 1) Yes it is in Existing TIVA ware Version.
    2) No but in some system it will work and others dont.(we have observed with Windows 7 32 bit it works fine but in Windows 7 64bit it will not work)
    3) Drivers are installed perfectly as it shows the TIVA Ware COM Port and its number too.
4)we have used Modscan 32 and various other.
  • If your application is based on a TivaWare example, then please test the TivaWare example on a TI board on both the PCs. This way we can eliminate the hardware issue and focus on the software. Right now I cannot provide much help based on the information provided.

Can you provide the name of the driver that is installed? Also is the same version of the driver installed on both the PCs?

    Thanks,
    Sai
