There is a fairly steep "learning curve" and for most here - linking the learning effort to a "special & desired" project outcome - helps you get through those hours (days) when, "Nothing seems to go your way."

I'd suggest that you search for & find similarly motivated (local) others - often the "drive" of the group will push you - and learning to collaborate is a very worthwhile skill...

You don't list "which" words you, "don't get." You did "get" your employment part - so (some) understanding occurred. I'm at a loss to further define my request for your areas of "interest."

Usually your boss will have a list of project & product objectives - and a proper firm will arrange these to "sequentially grow your skills & understanding."

Autonomous automobiles is an extremely HOT tech field now - some of your time reading & reviewing in that area should identify "countless" project opportunities. (many of which have a very nice payoff!)

Motor Drive, Radar (or Lidar), & Imaging all represent "growth areas" which may warrant (some) investigation...

I am not familiar with the partnership you mention, but would strongly encourage you to reach out to the coordinators of the program for some ideas.

Additionally, you could have a look at some of the TI Designs (ti.com/tidesigns) that are currently available on the TI website and try to replicate some of them if the TM4C123 can achieve the necessary HW requirements needed for them.

Yet another possibility is to combine some of the TivaWare examples together into some useful application since the examples are very simple things and complex things are often made from the combination of many simple things to achieve a higher capability or function. As an example, I now of an engineer that took the enet_io example and used it as the basis for a WiFi pool equipment control and status monitoring by customizing the example to his needs/application and also integrating with a CC3100 booster pack,

A final recommendation would be to look at some of the booster packs available through TI.com and integrate them with the TM4C123 LP. For example you could order and integrate the BOOSTXL_EDUMKII to make a remote control of some kind or some kind of interface to your computer. The ideas are only limited by your imagination and creativity.
