Hi,

Could you suggest an evaluation kit for TM4C129XNCZAD?

TM4C1294 Connected Launch Pad (EK-TM4C129XL)--Does this support the TM4C129XNCZAD MCU?

or TM4C129X Connected Development Kit (DK-TM4C129X) is this the only option?

Thanks

  • Hello a.v.,

The TM4C1294 CLP has the TM4C1294NCPDT device on it. This device is a 128 pin TQFP package vs the 212 ball BGA for the TM4C129XNCZAD so there is a differince in the IO capability between the two. In addition, the TM4C129XNCZAD has the additional security features available through the Crypto HW accelerator whereas the TM4C1294 does not. For a full review of the differences, I would suggest either using the product selector guide (www.ti.com/.../products.page) or using the compare feature on each of the part number's product page.

In order to fully decide which board would be more suitable for your evaluation purposes, I would need to have more information on the specific features you would like to evaluate. Obviously, if you are looking for a full evaluation of all features/content, the DK-TM$C129X uses the same part number configuration you are targeting so it would be the best fit but these kits are more expensive due to a full featured board. If you are looking to do a rudimentary evaluation of the TM4C129 device performance and general use of some of the peripherals, the TM4C1294 CLP or TM4C129E Crypto CLP comes for a very low cost and may suit your needs.
