Dear all,
I would like to ask you for explanation of the requirement defined in the SPNU540 (May 2014):
5.39.4 Disable the DMM Pin Interface
"Disabling the DMM pin interface in a production environment is highly recommended."
What does it actually mean?
Our intention is NOT to use the DMM in the production, of course. But we would like to use the pins connected via DMM module in the GIO mode. For example, the signals DMM_nENA and DMM_SYNC are exclusively connected to the balls F16 and J16 - so those signals can be only driven via the DMM module in the GIO function / mode.
Is the above described usage a proper one? Is this in accordance with the SM requirement 5.39.4? There is mentioned that:
"One possible method is to drive the DMM clock input low and to drive the active low DMM enable input high."
What does this actually require? The wording ""to drive the DMM clock input low" means that the signal DMM_SYNC must be permanently connected to the low level? Must this be fullilled also in the described case (scenario) we are using the DMM pins in the GIO mode?
I do not think so - because those signals could not be used in another function than as DMM-functional signals.
Thanks for your clarification in advance,
Best regards
Jiri
