1. Customer is asking how do we relate the 20uA internal pull-up and pull-down into resistance? Do we suggest customer to add additional pull-up/down resistor (any recommended value?)

2. Internal pull-up and pull-down applies only when GPIO configured as input only, is this understanding correct? If GPIO is configured as output, internal pull-up/down no longer applies?

Hi Beehoon,

The Internal Pull up or Pull Down applies only when GPIO is configured as Input, when input pins are left open(floating condition) it is susceptible to array of electrical condition which may cause a false trigger.

A detailed explanation on Pull up and Pull down resistors is found @ http://www.seattlerobotics.org/encoder/mar97/basics.html.

Example :- The nReset signal is always pulled up, in order to avoid a false reset by noise signals.
