Kentec 3.5" display problem with TivaC T4M123

Hello,

I just got a Kentec 3.5" booster pack from TI (www.ti.com/.../BOOSTXL-K350QVG-S1) and I've been trying to interface it with a TivaC TM4C123 LaunchPad, I've tried it with multiple examples using TI Graphics library (GRLIB) and Energia (using EducationalBP_MKII examples) but no luck at all, nothing was displayed even the backlight wasn't working, like the backlight blinked once or twice when connecting the BoosterPack to the LP.

My question is: do I need to modify anything in the BP hardware prior to connecting it to the LP?, isn't incompatible with any LP except the SimpleLink CC3200 (I know it's not compatible with the CC3200, and I'm not using this LP for clarification).

Also, if you know a working example for this BP with any TI LaucnPad it will be highly appreciated if you can direct me to it.

Hi Karim,

I think this thread should be most helpful in resolving your issues and also it includes some examples that posters on the thread have stated are working without any issues.

For what it's worth, we have a new release of TivaWare (2.1.3 as already referenced in several posts) coming within the next 2 weeks that will integrate the example code and drivers for the Kentec Display Booster pack. This should help resolve the getting started issues that you and others have seen.

Thanks for the prompt response.

I've seen the thread you mention above earlier yesterday, that's the one I've been following to get my BP up (especially TI lab 10), but no luck yet.

And thanks for the update regarding the latest TivaWare, that's really good news, I can wait for two weeks no big deal.

Will update the thread here once I have it up and running for future reference to other people.

Hi Chuck and everyone reading this thread,

Problem solved, Kentec LCD example in TivaWare 2.1.3 works fine, just don't forget to remove R9 and R10 from the TivaC board.
