CPU independent way of timestamping CAN messages

Could you Guys tell me if there any CPU independent way of timestamping CAN messages on TMS570LC4357?
I found nothing in TRM about this.

The DCAN does not have the timestamp register.

Well the RTI does have two event captures that can be triggered by any interrupt on the device.
So you'll have the latency of the CAN module to contend with but you can definitely timestamp an interrupt from the CAN module.
To timestamp more accurately at the CAN pin you'd need to do something custom perhaps w. N2HET.

Thank you for the idea! I was thinking on a similar solution with a DMA transfer initiated by CAN event but in the end it didn't worth to implement it.
