I have two questions.

First: Is there a way to uniquely identify LAUNCHXL2-TMS57012 Launchpad boards from a program running on the boards?

For instance something like retrieving the processors serial number and sending it over a serial port.

Second: Is there a way to place these Launchpad boards in a low power sleep mode?

Each Hercules device, such as the TMS570LS1224 used on the LAUNCHXL2-TMS570LS12, has a lot number, wafer, X and Y position which can be read from two system registers at locations 0xFFFFFF7C and 0xFFFFFF80. The 64-bits from these two registers will form a unique number. See section 2.5.1.29 of SPNU515.

You can reduce the power consumption of the TMS570LS1224 by disabling clock domains, but there is no low power mode for the rest of the board.
