PBE error on LIN bus

Hello,

I am checking my LIN bus communication which always show PBE (physical bus error). Does it mean there is something wrong with my LIN bus hardware such as cables?

I changed new cables but still reported the same error (PBE). Can anyone give me any suggestions?

Thanks a lot!!

  • Yue,

That's supposed to be an error that occurs during the Sync Break period - where if the device is trying to send the break and it can't pull the line low, or it cannot see the line rise back to VBAT after releasing the output, then it flags an error saying that the line is shorted (PHYSICAL BUS ERROR).

After this the manual says that any other errors are categorized as bit errors.

I would check your line to see if it's stuck low or high and if so who is driving it. (you can check the transceivers of the chips on the network to see if any are stuck driving the line high for example..
