Hi All,

I am new to TMS 570 controller. Earlier i used TMS 470 ARM controller.

Is there any tutorial available saying about the differences between 470 and 570 and introduction to TMS 570..

To Know the Differences between TMS470 and TMS570 have look at the following documents TMS470-SPNB086D and TMS570LS-SPRT545B

For more detailed information on TMS570LS series have a look at the TMS570LS TRM available @ TMS570LS-SPNU489.

Got it..

In sprt545b, i found TMS570 offers more than 250DMIPS. What is DMIPS and how do we calculate them?

1 DMIP = 1757 Dhrystones = performance of the “1 MIP” VAX 11/780 minicomputer circa 1980

The data we use is from ARM and based on Dhrystone 2.1 performance of the CPU with ideal memory and using ARM’s compiler.

Due to differences in testing procedures, it can be difficult to compare DMIPS data from multiple vendors. We recommend using the DMIPS/MHz number for the Cortex R4F in reference to the performance of the same test on other ARM cores.
