Re use of TI SW/FW drivers vs Copyrights

My customer currently working on a project that uses RM57 processor from TI.

They also purchased evaluation kits which came with sw/fw drivers and would like to use / modify some parts of the driver software but understand that it is protected by copyright.

Based on the copyright clause we are supposed to publish the copyright. The copyright can be published easily for web based products. How do we do it for embedded/firmware related products? Do you have any guide lines?

Thank you

  • Eric,
If they downloaded something from TI.com normally there is a manifest w. licensing information.
They need to understand that sometimes one download will contain components w. different licenses
so this is something that needs to be approached with care.
These are not technical questions - your customer should consult someone in their legal department.
We're not qualified here to answer this type of question.
