ccs does not see tm4c123gxl on-board debug or "binky" example in project wizard

Hi,

Normally, for ready-made projects, you need to import ones, not starting from zero. This will give you all settings, in Project | Properties.

The debug window (i.e debug perspective, in eclipse terminology) should be started manually for the first time, from menu Windows | Add Perspective. Later on when you start CCS, will find out a Debug button in the upper right corner of the main IDE window.

The connection should be ICDI, as stated by Chester. If not made by the wizard, you need to add a target connection (.ccxml file) to your project, from Project menu.

The Stellaris In-Circuit Debug Interface doesn't support the "Test Connection" on the target configuration, and so the the Verify button is dimmed out on the New CCS Project dialog.

i.e. it is expected that the "Verify" button is dimmed out when the connection is set to "Stellaris In-Circuit Debug Interface". I agree this isn't clear from the CCS user interface.
