Master SPI port on DRV8301?

Hello,

We are trying to use the TMS570LS12 on a DRV8301-LS12 as a SPI Master to control several other devices. It appears J8 (User SPI) cannot be used for this, due to the optical isolator circuit, which assumes the TMS570 is the SPI Slave. Would there be any problem in using J20 instead?

Hi Chuck,
J20 is connected directly to SPI slave drv8301 circuit, and there is only one _CS on it - so it's function seems to be limited to external configuration of drv8301.

Ok - we ended up replacing the ISO7241A optical isolation chip that connects the DRV SPI1 signals to J8, with another ISO7241A, just flipped over, to reverse the direction of the signals. That worked great, and we can now control external devices from the TMS570ls12 control card on the DRV board.
