Hi,

We are using TM4C1294NCPDT in POE Adapter design. using TI reference EK-TM4C1294XL REV D Schematic as reference for the design. In this design TM4C123xH6PMI also is used. The signals interfaced to this chip are debug / JTAG signals. The query is, TM4C129 also has JTAG interface, any specific reason for using TM4C123xH6PMI ?

In the POE Adapter Board we are using only TM4C1294 MCU. we have omitted TM4C123. instead we have interfaced the JTAG Debug to TM4C1294.

Kindly let me know the software implication and any changes required for design & Testing the product?

Hello Sumathi,

The TM4C123GH6PM device on the EK-TM4C1294XL LaunchPad acts as an In-Circuit Debug interface. This is provided so that the user can program and debug the main MCU (TM4C1294NCPDT) on this LaunchPad without having to use an external Debugger. The user can use an external debugger if they wish so. This was done mainly to reduce the cost of the development environment to the customer.

The software developed will not change due to the choice of the debugger.

We do not perform schematic reviews unless there is an issue in the design after PCB development. That is the reason why we provide reference design and user guide with care-abouts for a specific design/component.

We are using CC3100 Wifi and CC2650 BLE in our project. Kindly could you let me know the Antenna used for these interfaces. In BOM. ITs not mentioned. It would be great if you could let me know the Antenna manufacturer part numbers that were used for testing this design.
