JTAG EMULATOR FOR Tiva™ TM4C129X Development Board

Hi ,

I am planning to purchase Tiva™ TM4C129X Development Board,

Please suggest me JTAG Debugger that supports this Development Board .

Currently i have planned to purchase a 20 pin ARM based JTAG Debugger,(http://www.ti.com/tool/TMDSEMU100v2U-ARM) but the pinouts of 20 pin JTAG connector in the development board is not similar to the one which i selected.The pinouts of ARM 20-Pin Cortex Debug + ETM is different from normal ARM 20-Pin JTAG connector.

Please let me know which one to go with .The IDE i am going with is CCS .

Hello Chandan,

The DK-TM4C129X comes along with on-board ICDI debugger which is supported by CCS, IAR and Keil IDE. So you do not need to purchase an external debugger.

Thanks for the reply .

We are also planning to customize the DK-TM4C129X board design for our requirements and we will not be including ICDI debugger in our customized board .So we have designed a 10 pin connector which is compatible with 10 pin ARM JTAG Debugger .

I just wanted to make sure that the ARM JTAG Debugger(10 pin & 20 pin connector) which i mentioned in my earlier post supports TM4C129XNCZAD core in CCS.

Take a look at Segger. There's a lot to be said for avoiding vendor lock-in and they support the major compiler vendors and have explicit support for the major ARM vendors as well.
