I am reading "Safety Manual for TMS570LS31x and TMS570LS21 x Hercules ARMR-Based Safety Critical Microcontrollers (Literature Number: SPNU511D)".

Is it possible to run all of the CRC is carried out without the operation of the software?

    Hello Arrly,
    The Hercules CRC module supports three modes: Auto, Semi-CPU and Full-CPU. For Auto and Semi-CPU mode it will work in conjunction with the DMA module to carry out the read and write operations from the memory source to the PSA register. Auto mode does not involve CPU at all while the Semi-CPU mode involves the CPU a little bit when the CRC module completes the signature calculation of a specified range of the memory by interrupting the CPU. Please refer to the CRC module userguide in the TRM for details.
