Which section of the datasheet are you referring to for Secure Boot?

Sorry, not directly referring to Secure Boot in the tradition term. Is there a way to checksum an image before it is run to make sure the executable image is free of errors before running it?

Yes that is correct. This feature is only there in the Flash based boot loader.

Is it possible to read the contents of the application memory before code execution?

The flash based boot loader can do that before code execution. There is a Hook function which can be called before the Application execution. You would need to check in the Boot Loader User Guide.

BTW, why does the boot loader want to read the application memory if the CRC check already does that?
