Hi all,

we would like to use the XDS560v2 Pro Trace with our new CPU Board which has a TMS570LC4357.

As we see the ETM Data Pins are multiplexed with the EMIF adress and data pins.

As we use the EMIF too, we are a littele concerned.

Is it possible to use the trace module funtionality together with the EMIF ?

Or can we either trace or use the EMIF ?

Hi Lars,
Since EMIF and ETM are muxed together you can only choose one of them at any given time and not both together.

Not exactly.

There are 8 data pins of ETM that are not muxed with EMIF and so you can still trace and use EMIF.

But with fewer data pins you need to use more filtering and/or expect more dropouts due to FIFO overruns in the trace that is captured, because there is less bandwidth available for trace with 8 data pins instead of 19.
