I would like to submit a question regarding the operation of the N2HET and clocking. Please advise.
We are in the process to make a frequency measurement module with the N2HET.
We like to make a diagnostic self-test by using both N2HET’s.
One will measure the frequency and the other generates the frequency signal to be measured.
The data sheet is telling us that the clocks are synchronized if one N2HET is master and the other the slave, see below (pg796 of SNU503B) under CMS section.
We would like to have NO clock dependency, so sounds it logical that in that case both N2HET’s must be switched into master mode?
We can of course test this assumption but that will cost some time.
In order to save time, can you give us a formal confirmation that our interpretation of the data sheet explanation is right?
