LM Flash Programmer issue in Windows 10

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMFLASHPROGRAMMER, UNIFLASH

Hello,

Since moving to Windows 10, I can only run LM Flash Programmer as administrator- in normal user mode, the program simply fails to open.  When I modify the properties of the application and instruct it to run in Windows 7 compatibility mode, I no longer need to run as administrator.  Is this a known issue with LM Flash Programmer and Windows 10?  I'm using Build 1613, which I believe is the newest version.

Thanks,

Cindy

  • Hello Cindy,

This is not an issue with LMFlashProgrammer. This is a nuance of Windows and the concept of security they imply. I have seen this with utilities like NotePad++ which will work only in Administrator mode.
  • Hi Amit,

Thank you for your reply- yes I realize that security changes were made in Windows 10 and obviously that is affecting LM Flash Programmer. However, that is the only utility I have had any problems with (I use many other TI utilities such as CCS, CCS uniflash, Tiva C Series PinMux Utility, etc, and they all survived the transition to Windows 10). I also use NotePad++ without issue, so there is something specific to LM Flash Programmer that makes is no longer compatible. I'll continue to run it in Window 7 compatibility mode...

    Thanks!

    Cindy
