How to monitor 570 temperature?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS570LC4357, TMS570LS0714

I use 570ls0714 or 1224 ,but I can't find the temperature test/monitor for uC like 28035 can use adc testing the inner temperature.

Does this chip have the function or not,or can you find a way to solve that?

thanks,

Arvin Lu

  • Neither of those two devices have an on-chip sensor monitor. The TMS570LC4357 does have on-chip temperature sensors, but it is a much bigger/faster device.
  • How do i know whether the temperature is suitable for running in the chip? that's a problem.
  • Hi Arvin,
As Bob has indicated there is no internal built-in temperature sensor in the TMS570LS0714/1224 device. You can connect an external temp sensor but it will not measure the uC's internal junction temperature. Unless you can consider LC4357 uC as an alternative, there is indication that the uC's junction temperature has exceeded the datasheet. Please note that when the uC does operate beyond its recommended temperature range, the uC may fail to operate properly. The on-chip watchdog and various diagnostics (ECC and etc) can be used to detect the failures.
