Device visibility in a LAN network

No there is no code like that. Ethernet is rather transparent when compared to USB which has defined classes. The manner in which you handle the Ethernet ports and data help provide the services. As an example in the TIDM-TM4C129POEAUDIO the UDP port 64040 and 64041 is used. This is transparent to the network.

I had checked with that application too.But i cant see my device in "my network places" in network devices.How can i achieve this

I am not sure how Windows maps a device to the network places. Did you try mapping the device by IP address?

yes i tried to mapping the device by IP address and its working . But i want to visible my devices in windows network places. Which is the right way to do this.Is there any specific protocol's are there for that.

OK. let me step back and ask you what is the intention of this mapping? What kind of services do you think the device is going to provide?

Do your research to find out what Window-specific protocols (on top of TCP/IP) are required to support your requirement.

Then implement them.

I was using TM4C129 series micro controller based device.We can see the the device in windows my network places and using that name our GUI will communicate with that device via UDP protocol.The intention of the mapping was name into IP conversion only.we have use the device name instead of IP address.

Eventually the name is mapped to an IP address. That is something you need to check on MSDN as to how the mapping is done?
