Socket in Serial to Ethernet

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TM4C129XNCZAD, TIDM-TM4C129XS2E

Hello,

I'm developing a new application using a TM4C129XNCZAD for Serial to Ethernet. I'm completely new to Ethernet world, so please, forgive my not knowledge.

What I was asked is to understand how many socket can be used with this uC. The device should handle multiple queries from ethernet, and then retransmit them via UART.

Is it mandatory to use a RTOS with lwip, or can I implement a socket handler without OS? Where could I get a simple tutorial for getting into Ethernet world?

Thank you,

Mattia

  • Hello Mattia,

The only example we support right now is the TIDM-TM4C129XS2E which is RTOS with NDK stack and not lwIP.

As for tutorial, Ethernet is a pretty big protocol considering what comes on the higher layer. You need to be more precise.
