Dear support,

          In one of our design we are using hercules TMS570LS1227 microcontroller and we have interfaced EMAC to ICS1893 phy chip. Now we need to test the ethernet functionality but what i found that the HALcogen EMAC loopback example is for phy chip dp83640. Can i use the same example code to test controller EMAC functionality, if so please suggest me what are changes i need to do, if not please suggest me how to test ?.

    I'm not familiar with the IDT phy. You of course need to change any code specific to the DP83640 phy but how to change it I can't tell you.
    The obvious starts with the PHY ID register value.. but depending on your PCB design there could be a lot of changes needed.

    If you want to see the examples working you can order a dev. kit for the 1227 that matches the HalCoGen demo and then you will at least have something to compare against that is a working setup.
