Recommended Crystals for the RM48L950

Hello

We are using the RM48L950 and the datasheet says that we should send some samples of the micro to the crystal manufacturer for them to verify if the two are compatible.

This is something that I would like to avoid due to the time involved and use the same oscillator that is used on the Ti development board (7A-16.000MAAJ-T).

 

Do you know if that’s something that’s recommended or do you know of any other crystals that are recommended for the Hercules.

    We don't recommend any particular crystal for the RM48L950.

    From a practical standpoint, pick a crystal and start development then send a sample to a crystal vendor to confirm.

    You're very unlikely to run into any issue on your development units as long as you match what the crystal vendor says for loading caps.

    But before getting into high volume builds you should do what the datasheet says and get the crystal vendor to give you a recommended matching crystal and tank circuit based on testing a sample.
