tiva TM4C1294NCPD download boot-loader using lm-flash programmer

What is the setting of the LMFlashProgammer that you are using for Serial programming? Also, to confirm are you using the ROM boot loader and can you confirm that the device flash is empty?

yes device is erased, i am using rom bootloader.

What is the external hardware being used to program the device via the serial port? Is it a pure RS232 port. Also if it is the case then how is it being interfaced (is there a RS232 to 3.3V logic level conversion)?

YES IT IS PURE RS232 PORT HAVING ONLY RX TX AND GND CONNECTED TO PC.

UART TO RS232 CONVERTER IS USED.(RS232 to 3.3V logic level used )

And what is the device used for the logic conversion. A schematic of that part of your design would be an added check for us to perform (though you have confirmed that the COM port works)

That is correct. I would suggest using the Serial Flash programmer that comes in TivaWare directory of tools\bin

The name of the executable is sflash.exe

I would need to find a board which exposes the RS232 port for TM4C and test it out.

Finally, I got a board (related to the application note SPMA072 ). After wiring it up to my microcontroller I was able to use both LMFlash and sflash to download the binary to the device using the ROM boot loader.

The RS232 converter board has a MAX3232CPW

is it the software available on below link?

i got the software also find the sflash.exe but this is not a install-able exe.

i getting this error. i found this file on location "C:\ti\TivaWare_C_Series-2.1.1.71\tools\bin"

Instead of double clicking the same, please open a Command prompt and type sflash -h to see the options. The command has a format of

sflash.exe FILENAME.BIN -p PROGRAM_ADDRESS -c COM_PORT -b BAUDRATE -s SIZEOFTRANSFER

i have connected my board using serial port to pc directly i am not using any evaluation board. 

i am trying to update myapp.bin using Lm flash-programmer(build 1613) and ROM-BOOTLOADER in TM4C1294. but i am getting error failed to establish communication.

I was able to programe it using USB(DFU) but not with UART0.

I followed all the steps you mentioned in the post

Since you are re-opening an older thread, my questions to you would be as follows

1. Is the Flash of the device empty or not.
2. if the flash is empty then auto-bauding must be enabled with 115200 bps
3. If the flash is not empty then how do you make sure that the device is ready to be in boot mode

1) I had cleared the flash of the device using a debugger

2) I had tried both ways auto baud rate enabled and disabled with different baud rate settings

3) I had tried the USB DFU for programming the device and it got successfully programmed, so i am damm sure device is in ROM-Bootloader Mode.

Yes i am using UART0 and i have tried it with auto-baud enabled as well as disabled with different baud rates in LMFlashProgrammer.
