Hello,

Is there a default BSP for LaunchXL2-570LC43 ?. I am beginning with the Hercules Launchpad. If not, then I believe Halcogen is the only way of creating the drivers for the hercules safety microcontrollers.

There is no Board Support Package. HALCoGen is indeed the recommended way to get your project up and running quickly. There are some examples on the WIKI page.

Hi Bob,
Thank for your reply. I was able to use GIO library to light up an led and thus I got Halcogen working.

I am having trouble getting the SCI working with Serial over debug USB. I used the default SCI library functions sciINIT and sciSend to send a byte over SCI1. I do not capture any response on the serial terminal running on my PC.

The schematic showed LIN1/SCI1 is the one which goes through the XDS Debug port.

What am I missing ?

Make sure you connect to the correct COM port (User UART). There are two associated with the XDS110.

You might want to try the "example_sci_uart_9600". Start a HALCoGen Project using TMS570LC4357 and then go to HELP->Help Topics -> Examples.

I got it working. What I was missing the RX interrupt connection in SCI1 in Halcogen. Why is that significant here ?. I just wanted to transmit and thus RX Interrupt did not strike to me as a necessity
