TM4C123GH6PM: Integrate ICDI into my board

Part Number: TM4C123GH6PM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SEGGER

Hello, I am Sky.

I have a TM4C123 LaunchPad as a JTAG debugger.

I want to integrate the JTAG debugger into my target board.

However, I realize that TI does not support any source code of the Stellaris® In-Circuit Debug Interface (ICDI).

Then, there are my questions as below:

1) Can I obtain the firmware source code of ICDI for TM4C123? (I guess you will still say "no"...)

If possible, is it available to develop a TM4C123 chip integrated both my program and ICDI firmware?

(For example, divide each section for ICDI firmware and my program...and something else...)

2) Is there any alternatives to use JTAG Debugger without using TM4C123 ICDI?

If possible, please suggest me a list of available solutions.

Thanks in advance,

Kind Regards,

Sky.

  • Segger producers the top selling J-Link which provides JTAG & SWD. (SWD saves you 2 GPIO)

Many pro firms find J-Link far superior to (single, restricted, far less mature vendor) creations. And - what will you do when you seek (another firm's) MCU - and are denied by less capable & restrictive - vendor's ICDI?

Should you not seek a solution which proves broader, more established, and higher performing?   (i.e. accommodates a (larger) Sky!)

  • Hello Skym

No the firmware source code is not available for the ICDI. You may refer to the following application note for a list (not a exhaustive but lists the main and most commonly used)
