This is regarding the Tiva C series microcontrollers, what is meant by Tiva, is it just a label or does it implies something.

    It is just a brand name.

    A few years ago Texas acquired Luminary Micro, and the ARM based processors made by that company received improvements, TI's quality support, and became Tiva to break the connection with the old brand. It surely meant something for someone originally, but I would also be curious to know... TIVA stands for "Texas Instruments..." something - maybe "... Versatile ARM"?

    If the question was about their other line of processors, MSP, that one stands for Mixed Signal Processors if I recall properly.
