TM4C129ENCPDT: TM4C129ENCPDTI3 manufacturing error ?

Part Number: TM4C129ENCPDT

Microcontroller:
TM4C129ENCPDTI3

Manufacturing codes:
52ANG1W
4BA72JW

RTOS TIVAC 2.16.0.08

Pin RX: Pin 40 - PA6 - U2RX
Pin TX: Pin 41 - PA7 - U2TX

In manufacturing version 52ANG1W the operation of uart is correct, the pin U2TX is always 1 when it does not send data.
In manufacturing version 4BA72JW the operation of uart is not correct, the pin U2TX is always 0 when it does not send data.

Notes:
Same firmware for both versions.
Same hardware for both versions.
Even unloading for both XDS100 V2.
It was tested in 20 equipments of each version of manufacture, all with the same behavior.
We have 1000 microcontrollers in stock divided by these two versions.

My question is: is there any problem with the 4BA72JW manufacturing so the pin U2TX (PA7) always at 0 ?

  • Hello Patricio

There should be no such issue with the device based on the manufacturing code. Please perform a simple GPIO test where the IO PA7 is manually configured to be a GPIO and is driven high. If the issue still persists, please do a device swap to ascertain if there is a PCB issue.

If the issue still does not get resolved then return the device to TI for Failure Analysis. You would need to contact your local TI sales representative for the same.
  • Hello,

    Thanks for your response.
    I will follow your solution.

    Patricio.
