TMS570LC4357: Error Connecting to target

Part Number: TMS570LC4357
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH

Dear E2E,

I'm using CCSv6.0.1, compiler version TI v16.12.0, controller tms570lc4357,

I'm programming TMS by using JTAG & i'm getting error as

" IcePick: Error connecting to the target: (Error -2131 @ 0x0) Unable to access device register. Reset the device, and retry the operation. If error persists, confirm configuration, power-cycle the board, and/or try more reliable JTAG settings (e.g. lower TCLK). (Emulation package 6.0.14.5)"

What is the reason for this error & how can it be resolved ??

Thanks & Regards

Chethan

  • Hello Chethan,

A few questions to help us along our way. First, what board are you using? The Launchpad, HDK or a custom board? Have you checked the power supply to the device to insure it is getting the proper power/voltage levels? You should see the power LEDs illuminated. Also, is this a new problem where you have previously been able to connect or is this the first attempt at programming the device? Can you double check that the Safety or Hercules support package is installed within CCS?

Finally, have you tried to use Uniflash to program the device and do you get similar errors in programming with the stand along programming tool?

I look forward to your answers. Thanks for your patience.
  • Hi Chuck ,

I'm using custom board, there was a mistake on my side , I had not connected the power reset circuit properly. Now it's working fine.

    Thanks for the reply.

    Thanks & Regards

    Chethan
