TM4C1230H6PM: Low power Bluetooth CC2540 with Tiva TM4C123

Part Number: TM4C1230H6PM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2540, CC2650MODA, CC2650STK

Hi ,

I am new to the micro controller programming. Actually I am working in Low power Bluetooth CC2540 and I am searching a microcontroller to interface the bluetooth. Now I planned to use the TM4C123 Tiva with the CC2540. Will it work properly in SPI interface and any programming difficulty will come while interface?

Kindly give your suggestions,

Thanks in Advance.

  • Hello Rajkumar

We do not have a ready to use example for TM4C123x device with CC2540. The closest example is for TM4C129x device which is available as a TI Design

  • In case you are new to this, shouldn't you look for a module instead of the SoC itself?
We are working on integrating the CC2650MODA to a TM4C129 - and we are using UART. Although the BT module FW also has support for SPI, we believe UART is more flexible and faster for code development.

  • Bravo Bruno - when evaluating a new device - and failing to give your development, "Every chance of success" - you do yourself NO Favors! And will spend days/weeks here - crying for assistance. A pre-engineered/built Development Module is the, "Only SANE way to go!"

Use of the "CC2650STK" (we inherited from disty) is sure to, "Speed, Ease, Enhance" poster's and "all here" in their development efforts.
Starting instead from a custom board reaffirms the (always) finding that, "Everything is suspect - anything could be wrong - and opens the floodgates of delay, uncertainty, doubt...
