I downloaded the Emac Lwip demo Version 00.03.00 available at

but was unable to run it on my board:

I checked and the debugger selected in the project was XDS 100 v2 and changed it to XDS110 (the one on my TMS570LC4357), but now I am unable to flash (debug) the code as it is giving the following error:

Texas Instruments XDS110 USB Debug Probe_0/CortexR5 : Target must be connected before loading program.

Also, I tried to flash the .out file directly using Uniflash, but it just gets stuck at initializing.

Did you make sure that the target is actually connected? Based on the error message it seems not to be the case.

I am sorry, that problem got resolved. I had connected everything fine but was not able to flash that specific project. I was still able to flash my other projects.
I reinstalled the demo and again included the project and it worked fine

But now I am getting the following problem:
The terminal shows
Getting PHY ID ................................. and keeps displaying that without success.

I'm not sure which kit you have. But by the description if you have a kit w. an XDS110 then it is probably the launchpad not the HDK.

The lwIP example that you download isn't setup for the LaunchPad. There are some changes to make if you want to run it on the LaunchPad.
Pretty minor pin muxing mostly - but please see

Which explains how to modify the example to run on the LaunchPad.
