RM57L843: Broken download for HERCULES_SAFETY_MCU_DEMOS

Part Number: RM57L843
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: HALCOGEN

Hi team,

I have someone interested in the HERCULES_SAFETY_MCU_DEMOS found here:

http://www.ti.com/tool/hercules_safety_mcu_demos

There appears to just be only an alert me button and no way to download it or request it.

Is there another way to obtain this? These guys are ready for the demos now so hopefully it’s not a web issue that drags on.

Please let me know your thoughts.

Thanks,

Billy

  • Hi Billy

I don't know why the download button was removed or even if it was done intentionally or by mistake. However, I would defintely not recommend using it as it really is just an animation of the the capabilities of Hercules (runs some diags on the device and graphically shows it completed). I think it would be more ideal to simply review some of the online safety trainings relative to Hercules and to use the other tools and collateral that is available for working with the devices such as Halcogen, SafeTI Diagnostic library, the CSPs, the CQK etc.

The most bang for the buck would come from reviewing the information and training (especially the 4 part safety training series) located on this page: training.ti.com/.../embedded-processors-microcontrollers-mcu

For a similar presentation to the Safety MCU Demo, they could just watch t he online safety animation located here: www.ti.com/.../safeTI-animation.html

The one thing that is lacking if using the online animation vs. the MCU DEMO, is that the code isn't actually running on the MCU and there isn't code included that can be played with. I don't see this as a major issues since the included code with the Safety MCU Demo was very old and not up to date with the latest HalCoGen generated code and current coding standards.
