RM44L520: MibADC Inter channel Accuracy

Part Number: RM44L520

Assuming that I have identical well buffered inputs to two different  adc channels, and I have selected the sampling and conversion times correctly, can I expect the conversions to match better than the total unadjusted error of +/- 4 LSB? Similarly, If I take repeated readings of the same signal, can I expect a better than +/- 4LSB repeatability?

  • Richard,

You are more than likely to see results better than the +/-4LSB especially if you use the calibration feature in terms of repeatability which is different than the total error specified in the datasheet. Total error is dependent on operating temperature, where within the voltage range your supply and input voltages are, the noise susceptibility of the PCB, and silicon process related variations. You should also consider the INL and DNL ratings from the datasheet. For overall accuracy, our characterization of the ADC shows the over all accuracy to be as stated in the datasheet as +/-4LSB under the given loading. We can't really state anything beyond that.
